Basketball Game Preview: Belvidere North Blue Thunder vs. Hononegah Indians

Belvidere North is 2-8 against Hononegah since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Belvidere North Blue Thunder will be playing at home against the Hononegah Indians at 7:15 p.m.

Belvidere North is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Boylan Catholic, falling 46-25. While losing is never fun, the Blue Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Titans are ranked 191st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hononegah). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Rockford East 82-30. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Hononegah's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Belvidere North, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-19.
