Baseball Game Preview: Kent Denver Sun Devils vs. Standley Lake Gators

The Kent Denver Sun Devils will face off against the Standley Lake Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Kent Denver got the win against Montbello by a conclusive 16-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sun Devils.

Will Goldmanis made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Goldmanis was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Kent Denver got a massive performance out of Joseph Covell, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Covell a new career-high. Daniel Braun was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Kent Denver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montbello only posted an OBP of .280.

Meanwhile, Standley Lake beat Steamboat Springs 8-5 on Saturday.

Henry Moore and Trenton Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Moore scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4, while Nelson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Titus Schrecengost, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Standley Lake's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Kent Denver, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
