Basketball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Pallotti's Winning Streak

It was a proper cat-fight when Pallotti took on New Hope Academy National on Thursday. The Pallotti Panthers fell to the New Hope Academy National Tigers 63-57. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

New Hope Academy National was led to victory by Uriah Augare-Deal and Haki Muhammed II. Augare-Deal dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Muhammed II posted 19 points. The game was Muhammed II's 19th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Payton III, who had seven points.

With the loss, Pallotti broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7. As for New Hope Academy National, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Pallotti (ranked 78th) will meet Potomac School (ranked 12th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, New Hope Academy National (ranked 85th) will meet Glenelg Country (ranked tenth) at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
