Football Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mountain View had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it six. They took a blow against the Central Gwinnett Black Knights, falling 47-17. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.

Mountain View's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deion Saunders, who picked up 150 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Central Gwinnett, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Christian Peal was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 132 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries. Those 132 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jaren Joseph also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Mountain View has already played their next matchup, a 61-24 loss against Dacula on the 17th. As for Central Gwinnett, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 75-0 defeat against Buford on the 17th.
