Basketball Game Preview: WISH Academy Owls vs. Panorama Pythons

The WISH Academy Owls will venture away from home to take on the Panorama Pythons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (WISH Academy has three straight wins, Panorama has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

WISH Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 66-28 victory over Lakeview Charter. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Noah Tureaud continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 13 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Enoch Tessema, who posted 11 points and four steals.

WISH Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Panorama came up short against Van Nuys last Friday and fell 52-43.

WISH Academy will have to keep a close watch on Raphael Latorre and Eddie Munguia, a pair of players who had a big impact on Panorama's prior game. Latorre had 17 points and three steals, while Munguia earned seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Vargas, who put up four points.

WISH Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Panorama, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
