Bloomingdale falls despite strong effort from Caleb McClung

Recap: Bloomingdale Blazers vs. Expression Prep Academy Lions

It was a good run, but the Bloomingdale Blazers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. Their tough 88-63 defeat to Expression Prep Academy might stick with them for a while. Bloomingdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-19.

Despite the loss, Bloomingdale still got an impressive performance from Caleb McClung, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was McClung's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dorian Reese, who scored 11 points.

Even though they lost, Bloomingdale were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Expression Prep Academy only racked up 17 assists.

Jace Coats was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Expression Prep Academy. The match was Coats' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rasheed Morrison, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Bloomingdale's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Expression Prep Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomingdale will challenge Tolsia at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Tolsia is ranked 48th, while Bloomingdale is ranked 64th). Expression Prep Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mountain Mission at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th.
