Basketball Recap: Mountain Range Takes a Loss

Mountain Range lost against Fairview back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mountain Range Mustangs fell just short of the Fairview Knights by a score of 43-41. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Range lost, don't look at Delilah Lucero. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 9 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. The contest was Lucero's third in a row with at least ten points. Liliana Jaramillo was another key player, putting up six points.

Fairview found their leader in sophomore Chloe Hickory, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hickory a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Julia Savage, who put up ten points and eight rebounds.

Mountain Range has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Fairview, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Mountain Range didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-21 defeat against Legacy on the 19th. As for Fairview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-32 win against Brighton on the 19th.
