Baseball Recap: Berthoud Spartans vs. Northridge Grizzlies
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berthoud). Everything went their way against the Northridge Grizzlies on Monday as they made off with a 19-5 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Anderson Austin and Elisha Mosher were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Austin pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Mosher pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Austin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Mosher scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Mosher has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Caleb Lettieri was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Trent Jacobs was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
