Baseball Recap: Pipestone Takes a Loss

Pipestone had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Luverne Cardinals, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 on April 10th.

As for Luverne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1. Considering they have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Luverne's part, the team relied heavily on Joshua Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Hansen has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Lais, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, Pipestone will square off against Blue Earth at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bucs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.83 runs per game on average), something the Arrows will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Luverne, they will challenge Redwood Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
