Football Recap: Malden Green Wave vs. Dexter Bearcats
Malden couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Dexter Bearcats on Friday, falling 57-8. The Green Wave just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row dating back to last season.
Dexter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lee-Michael McDonald, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns. McDonald got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Grams, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malden will host Caruthersville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dexter, they will be playing at home against Sikeston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
