Basketball Recap: Mount View Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mount View can now relate to. They fell to the Mattanawcook Lynx 51-46. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Lynx are ranked seventh).

Mattanawcook found their leader in sophomore Kooper McCarthy, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points. McCarthy is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Jordan, who posted nine points.

Mount View's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Mattanawcook, the win keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

Mount View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mattanawcook, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 83-51 victory against Fort Kent on the 20th.
