Baseball Game Preview: Sycamore Spartans vs. Wauconda Bulldogs

The Sycamore Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Wauconda Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Sycamore beat Dixon 6-3. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Dukes & Duchesses recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Wauconda ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Woodstock North 8-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ryan Fostiak was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Wauconda: the team is 10-4 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Carson Koehler was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI.

Sycamore's record now sits at 17-14. As for Wauconda, their record is now an identical 17-14.
