Morgan let Carbon stack four runs on them in the second inning on Thursday but luckily Morgan prevailed anyway. The Trojans skirted past the Dinos 8-7. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 win the Dinos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

The team relied heavily on Kanyon Leonelli, who went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tyson Talbot, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Morgan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Morgan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Carbon, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Morgan will head out to challenge Ogden at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.7 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carbon, they will challenge Emery at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dinos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
