Basketball Recap: Tanner Comes Up Short

Tanner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Elkmont Red Devils, falling 49-24. The Rattlers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Madalyn Washco was Tanner's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Elkmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nyla Parker led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Parker has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Williams, who posted four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Tanner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Elkmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-18.

Tanner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-50 loss against Lexington on the 1st. As for Elkmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-35 win against Asbury on the 1st.
