Basketball Recap: Jennings Takes a Loss

Jennings lost against Hamilton Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Jennings Bulldogs fell 66-55 to the Hamilton Christian Warriors.

Hamilton Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javon Vital led the charge by going 10 of 17 en route to 27 points along with eight boards and six assists. What's more, Vital also posted a 59% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Seth Ned, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds.

Jennings has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Hamilton Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Jennings didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-68 loss against Madison Prep Academy on the 7th. As for Hamilton Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-37 win against Elton on the 7th.
