Soccer Game Preview: Valley vs. Pius X

The Valley Tigers will face off against the Pius X Thunderbolts on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (Valley 0.4, Pius X 0.5) so any goals scored will be well earned.

Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Saturday, they were much more limited against Northwest on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wolves by a score of 2-1. The loss was Valley's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Pius X came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Monarchs get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Pius X's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Pius X's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
