Baseball Recap: Point Loma Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Point Loma's offense. They came up short against the St. Augustine Saints on Thursday, falling 7-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Saints this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat on Tuesday.

Point Loma saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Point Loma has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8-1 record this season. As for St. Augustine, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Loma will square off against Scripps Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pointers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for St. Augustine, they will face off against Cathedral Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Saints 3.4, the Dons 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
