Basketball Recap: Montpelier Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Montpelier won the last time they faced Antwerp and things went their way on Saturday too. The Montpelier Locomotives snuck past the Antwerp Archers with a 38-33 victory. Given the Locomotives' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Archers are ranked 561st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montpelier is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Antwerp, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

Montpelier has already played their next game (against Edon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Antwerp will head out to take on Hicksville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Antwerp is facing Hicksville at the right time seeing as Hicksville is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
