Basketball Recap: Kendra Hardwick and Jordyn Copley Secure Win for Firelands

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Firelands). They blew past the Oberlin The Phoenix 57-33 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading Firelands to victory were Jordyn Copley and Kendra HardwicK. Copley dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 boards, while Hardwick went 6 of 12 on her way to 20 points. With that strong performance, Hardwick is now averaging an impressive 16.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Larren Rounds, who posted ten points.

Firelands' win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Oberlin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Firelands didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-61 loss against Lorain on the 9th. As for Oberlin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-25 defeat against Keystone on the 11th.
