Phillips and Morgan Park are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Wildcats will square off against the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Phillips' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so Morgan Park's offense will have their work cut out for them.

It was a proper cat-fight when Phillips challenged Lincoln Park on Saturday. The Wildcats took a 28-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Meanwhile, Morgan Park strolled past Whitney Young with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-12. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Morgan Park's win came from a few key players Phillips will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Reggie Gray Jr, who rushed for 141 yards and one score while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 68 yards. Nasir Rankin was another key player, gaining 94 total yards and a touchdown.

Morgan Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Darrell Mattison.

Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Morgan Park, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Phillips was taken down by Morgan Park 48-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Terrance Gurley (who rushed for 67 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
