Softball Game Preview: Harding Knights vs. Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks

The Harding Knights will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Harding made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Edison, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Knights put the hurt on the Tommies with a sharp 18-8 victory on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Avorn Vang was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Vang was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Marcela Deloye-Romero was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cadence Lee, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Robbinsdale Cooper earned a 10-7 win over Roosevelt on Tuesday.
