Bethel dropped their record down to 11-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 12-2 to the Tippecanoe Red Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bees have suffered since April 6, 2024.
Bethel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Barker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Barker's first of the season.
As for Tippecanoe, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Tippecanoe's side, Carson Jackson was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Ethan Davis looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Back at the plate, Ethan Harney was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mason Dehus, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Bethel and Tippecanoe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Bees (ranked 181st) will meet Tecumseh (ranked 436th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Tippecanoe will square off against Troy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (17 vs. 198).
