Volleyball Recap: Pike Valley Panthers vs. Lakeside Knights
Pike Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakeside Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Pike Valley sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 16-25, 25-23.
Tianna Reeves paced Pike Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Reeves got some help from Kinley Cooper and her 14 assists. Landry Nylund and Autumn Shelton kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Pike Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Lakeside, their victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.
Coming up, Pike Valley will square off against Tescott on Tuesday. As for Lakeside, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Linn on the 4th.
