Soccer Recap: Goldsboro Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Goldsboro's offense. They lost 5-0 to the Rolesville Rams on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Rams are ranked 46th).

Goldsboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-2. As for Rolesville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldsboro will challenge Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Goldsboro surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rolesville, they will square off against Corinth Holders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rolesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
