Volleyball Recap: Pieper Warriors vs. Smithson Valley Rangers
Smithson Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Pieper proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Smithson Valley Rangers by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Pieper walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 26-24, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22.
Despite the loss, Smithson Valley still got an impressive performance from Marlowe Berry, who had 11 digs and 24 assists. Berry is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Fuentes, who had eight digs and 15 assists.
Pieper has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 31-7 record this season. As for Smithson Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pieper will venture away from home to take on Boerne-Champion at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
