Football Recap: Highland Park's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Highland Park extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 70-66 W against the Tyler Lions. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Scots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Lions are ranked 278th).

Buck Randall threw for 473 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Matthew White was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards.

As for Tyler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4. On the bright side, the 66- point effort marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cadarius McMiller, who rushed for 151 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. Trey Haralson also helped out as he racked up 112 receiving yards.

Highland Park didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-35 win against Red Oak on the 3rd. As for Tyler, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-16 victory against Joshua on the 3rd.
