Baseball Recap: Chariho Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with St. Raphael Academy

Chariho faced St. Raphael Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Chargers fell just short of the Saints by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by just one run.

Chariho saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Sumner, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Chariho's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for St. Raphael Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
