Softball Preview: Tonopah Valley Phoenix vs. Benjamin Franklin Chargers
The Tonopah Valley Phoenix will head out to challenge the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tonopah Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Tonopah Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Arizona Lutheran Academy. The win was some much needed relief for the Phoenix as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Morgan Green was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Tonopah Valley got a big performance out of Mackenzie Eaton, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Lena Hacker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Benjamin Franklin couldn't beat Chandler Prep on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Chargers lost 16-6 to the Titans.
