Soccer Game Preview: Hoover vs. Sanger West

Hoover and Sanger West are an even 2-2-2 against one another since January of 2023, but likely not for long. The Hoover Patriots will host the Sanger West Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hoover's offense. They came up short against San Joaquin Memorial on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Sanger West hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They never let Madera onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Coyotes are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sanger West is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-0-6 record this season. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
