After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Affton brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their defense stepped up to hand the Central Bulldogs a 4-0 shutout on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Affton as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Affton's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Affton and Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 96th) will meet Pacific (ranked 34th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Central will challenge Republic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (127 vs. 49).
