Basketball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus lost against Monona Grove back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Columbus Cardinals had to suffer through a 72-43 loss at the hands of the Monona Grove Silver Eagles. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Columbus has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Monona Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Columbus will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Monona Grove, they will take on Monroe at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Monroe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
