Volleyball Recap: Mater Academy East Las Vegas' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Amplus Academy on Tuesday, Mater Academy East Las Vegas came back down to earth. The Knights took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Roadrunners: they've now lost three in a row.

Ashlyn Winans was the offensive standout of the game as she had 13 assists and five digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mater Academy East Las Vegas fell to 2-1. As for Southeast Career Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sunrise Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on September 8. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Southeast Career Tech, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Campbell on the 29th.
