Football Recap: Houston County Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Mj Mathis and Austin Stinson + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Houston County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 38-28 to the Rome Wolves on Friday. The matchup was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Bears couldn't quite close it out.

Houston County's loss came despite strong showings from Austin Stinson and Mj Mathis. Stinson gained 185 total yards, while Mathis picked up 81 receiving yards and one TD. Stinson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 63 yards. Houston County also got help from Jeffery Thomas, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.

Houston County's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Rome, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Houston County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rome, they will square off against Jackson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so the Wolves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
