Basketball Recap: Bayfield Comes Up Short

Bayfield was the 53-51 winner over Durango when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bayfield Wolverines came up short against the Durango Demons on Tuesday, falling 57-33. The Wolverines were down 47-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Bayfield lost, don't look at Lincoln Williams. Despite the final result, he posted five points along with five boards and three steals. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 20 times he's played.

Bayfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Durango, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Bayfield will take on Bloomfield in a tournament on December 19th. Durango has already played their next game, a 49-41 win against Kirtland Central on the 12th.
