Volleyball Recap: Manitowoc Lincoln Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Manitowoc Lincoln lost to Bay Port on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Ships walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Pirates. The game was the first time the Ships have beaten the Pirates on their court since September 30, 2023.

Abby Weidmayer paced Manitowoc Lincoln's offense, picking up 15 kills. Weidmayer got some help from Cora Foster and her 17 assists. Weidmayer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Bay Port's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Russell, who had 11 digs and three assists.

Manitowoc Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-18 record this season. As for Bay Port, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-6.

Coincidentally, Manitowoc Lincoln and Bay Port will both be playing Pewaukee the next time they take the court. The Pirates will head out to face the Pirates at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, while the Ships will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
