Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Assumption

While Assumption's victory against Amherst wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Royals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. The two-run effort marked the Royals' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win was the fourth in a row for Assumption, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Amherst, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Assumption will face off against Pacelli at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Amherst, they will challenge Neillsville/Granton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
