The Big Walnut Golden Eagles will take on the Bishop Hartley Hawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Big Walnut is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Big Walnut is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Westerville South on Thursday as they made off with a 21-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Kennedy Reed made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyra Holmes, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anna Thornhill, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Big Walnut kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Bishop Hartley didn't have quite enough to beat London on Wednesday and fell 9-8.

The victory got Big Walnut back to even at 3-3. As for Bishop Hartley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Big Walnut couldn't quite finish off Bishop Hartley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
