Basketball Recap: Make It 12 in a Row for Callaway

Callaway had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Lake Cormorant 56-25. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers, who have now won 12 matchups in a row.

Jahanna Wilson was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jernae Ringgold, who went 7-for-16 on her way to 16 points and four steals.

Callaway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Callaway's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for Lake Cormorant, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-18.

Looking ahead, Callaway will face off against South Panola at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Callaway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season. Lake Cormorant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
