North Johnston has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 29-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goldsboro on Friday. While losing is never fun, North Johnston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Goldsboro is ranked 61st).
Eastern Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for North Johnston, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Everything came up roses for Eastern Wayne against North Johnston in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 49-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastern Wayne since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
