Football Recap: Los Banos Tigers vs. El Capitan Gauchos

Los Banos scored the most points they've had all season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the El Capitan Gauchos 33-28. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gauchos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2015.

Lorenzo Peters was his usual excellent self, rushing for 304 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry for El Capitan. Peters really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run. Diego Ultreras made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Los Banos' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for El Capitan, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Los Banos will head out to face off against Merced at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Merced knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Los Banos likes a good challenge. As for El Capitan, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Atwater at 7:00 p.m. El Capitan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.5 points per game this season.
