Baseball Recap: Northwood Academy Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Northwood Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They lost 12-1 to the Pinewood Prep Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 14-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Northwood Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Cumbee, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Zach Welch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Northwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pinewood Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

While Northwood Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
