Ayden - Grifton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Southern Wayne Saints by a score of 52-42 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered a 49-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Southern Wayne's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kymora Stokes, who posted 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiara Wynn, who earned ten points.

Southern Wayne is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Ayden - Grifton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-44 defeat against Pamlico County on the 3rd. As for Southern Wayne, they will head out to challenge Goldsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
