Eisenhower triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Melia Contreras

Recap: Eisenhower Cadets vs. Sunnyside Grizzlies
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pasco, the Eisenhower Cadets were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-46 victory over Sunnyside. For Eisenhower, this counts as revenge for the 52-51 loss Sunnyside walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Eisenhower can attribute much of their success to Melia Contreras, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ayana Gallegos, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
The win got Eisenhower back to even at 2-2. As for Sunnyside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eisenhower will face off against West Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Eisenhower likes a good challenge. As for Sunnyside, they will head out on the road to face off against East Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
