Baseball Recap: Oakdale Takes a Loss

Oakdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monterey Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 13th.

Oakdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Monterey, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record.

Coming up, Oakdale will look to defend their home field on Monday against Greenback at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cherokees have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. Monterey has already played their next game (against Harriman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
