Basketball Recap: Montgomery Sets Scoring Season-High Against Logansport

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery). They blew past the Logansport Tigers 84-57 on Friday. Montgomery has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Montgomery was led to victory by Hayden Ganey and Latney Laysone. Ganey dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Laysone went 11 of 26 on his way to 26 points. What's more, Ganey also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacorian Shepherd, who almost dropped a double-double with nine boards and 13 assists.

Montgomery has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Logansport, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery will take on Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Montgomery surely won't give up without a fight. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
