Basketball Recap: Stayton Finds Playoff Glory Versus Philomath

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Stayton had no problem doing just that on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 40-39 victory over the Philomath Warriors. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Stayton pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Philomath, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.
