Baseball Game Preview: Socastee Braves vs. Conway Tigers

For the second straight game, Socastee will face off against Conway. The Braves are taking a road trip to face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Socastee headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Conway let them put that streak behind them. The Braves blew past the Tigers 11-1 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Braves have posted against the Tigers since March 15, 2023.

Luke Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Socastee is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gavin Hartas was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Keyser, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Socastee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Conway's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Socastee, they moved to 7-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
