Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Jacinto). They breezed past the Tahquitz Titans to the tune of 53-7 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Titans are ranked 430th).
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to San Jacinto's defense and their seven sacks. DAMERE COLEMAN was especially locked on to Tahquitz's QB and sacked him three times. COLEMAN also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 14.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for San Jacinto, racking up 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of RONNIE MCCAULEY, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
