Katy has won three straight games at home, while Paetow has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Tigers will challenge the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Paetow better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Katy's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Katy really gets things going. Everything went the Tigers' way against Jordan as they made off with a 38-17 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Warriors are ranked 212th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Tremayne Hill, who rushed for 209 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. He has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cade McCall, who picked up 78 receiving yards and two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Katy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 290 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 290 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
Katy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Ritter and David Oluto-Judah. Another thorn in Jordan's side was Jeremiah Smith, who picked up a sack, made eight total tackles, and defended two passes.
Meanwhile, Paetow made easy work of Seven Lakes on Thursday and carried off a 28-3 win. The game marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season.
Katy better keep an eye on Curtis Zeno. He was instrumental in Paetow's win, rushing for 65 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Zeno got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards.
One reason for the win was Paetow's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Klenam Attipoe and Samuel Wright III, who racked up five sacks between them. Paetow is 3-1 when Wright III posts two or more sacks, but 1-2 otherwise.
Katy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Paetow, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Katy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 350.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Paetow struggles in that department as they've been averaging 195.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Katy against Paetow when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 37-3 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
