Baseball Recap: Keefe Tech Triumphs

Keefe Tech won the last time they faced Blackstone-Millville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Broncos won by a run and slipped past the Chargers 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Joey Secatore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on zero hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chris Anastos was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Keefe Tech's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Jose Medrano was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Keefe Tech pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blackstone-Millville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.

Keefe Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blackstone-Millville, they will take on Boston Collegiate at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
